Future Wolverines???

While in Michigan for a wedding this past weekend, Shirley and I took the boys to Ann Arbor to revisit campus. So much has changed since I left - mostly new buildings I didn't recognize.

We started with lunch at Pizza House. Nathan picked a blue plate, so of course, Shirley picked the yellow one. Wearing them as hats was Nathan's idea.

Then we headed over to the Cube. Nathan thought it was pretty cool that he could get it going by himself. Mathew was not impressed.

We walked across the Diag on the way back. Nathan thought the "M" at the center was pretty cool and trampled over it several times... now he is doomed to fail his first exam!

Mathew was much more cautious, being careful to crawl around the "M". That's my boy!

Mathew Stands Up!

Mr. Mathew has been standing on his own here and there. Tonight, he stood up on his own, without the help of a couch or endtable! He was very proud of himself!

Hugo Farms

Today was the day!!! Nathan has been waiting for the school field trip to Hugo Farms for a long time. He was so excited this morning.

Nathan's trip buddy was his friend Steven. We know him as "Steven the Reader".

Nathan didn't want to hold the big turkey chick, but he was eager to hold this less intimidating little yellow one.

Nathan's comment, "He's eating granola."

Outside the turkey pens. .. Nathan's comment, "It's kind of stinky."

The highlight of the trip (for both of us)! It's true, piglets really do squeal, "Weee weee weeeeee!"

Nathan liked the little puppies much more than the kittens (no claws).
The trip ended with all the kids jumping into a big pile of hay... twice :)

Consequences

Ran a stop sign in our neighborhood this morning...

Nathan: Mom, you didn't stop!
Me: Shoot! I'm sorry Nathan, I wasn't paying attention.
Me: You should always pay attention when your driving. I made a bad choice.
Nathan: After school today, when we get home, you should sit in your room and think about it.
Me: Okay.
Nathan: I love you.
Me: Thanks Buddy. Love you too.
Nathan: But you still have to sit in your room for awhile.

Heh heh heh... he's good.
