Where's the Hair?
He's a Preschooler?
Nathan completed his transition from the toddler room to one of the preschool rooms last week. He's already testing boundaries... he was asked three times to sit down. The fourth time he said, "I'm going to tell my Dad on you!" I'm sure Ms. Kiehne has heard this before! Her response was, "What are you going to tell your Dad? That you are not being a good listener?" Nathan thought about it for a second then grinned and sat down. Score: Ms. Kiehne 1, Nathan 0.
[Update: One week later, Nathan was having trouble following directions. After being asked several times to use the number bars correctly, he said, "You call my Jenny!" Ms. Kiehne replied, "And what should I tell your mom when I call her?" Nathan grinned and said, "You call my Jenny and you tell her that I'm not listening". Score: Ms. Kiehne 1, Nathan 1]
Monday was his first official day in Ms. Kiehne's class. He loves being in the preschool room and is curious about absolutely everything in it... which means he feels the need to go around the room touching and picking up absolutely everything! Here's a pic of him outside the school on his first day, ready for mischief!
Woodbury Days
We eventually made it to Woodbury. Nathan rode a couple rides and won a few prizes while Shirley pushed a wide-eyed Mathew around in the stroller. Nathan colored a picture for a coloring contest at one of the booths. We got a call a couple days later... he won a bike! Here's a picture of his fancy prize! The training wheels were included :-)
The Great Minnesota Get Together
We checked out the State Fair on Tuesday night. Nathan ate an entire Pronto Pup all by himself. Judging by the size of his bites and the speed with which he ate, he loves Pronto Pups... just like his mom! We also sampled cheese curds, garlic fries, loaded tater tots on a stick, Dole whips, mini donuts, bull bites, porcupine balls, and Australian potato planks. We passed on the chocolate covered bacon!
Nathan found the John Deere plaza and spent over an hour climbing into all the different tractors and construction equipment.
Even Aunt Shirley, the city-slicker/yuppie was getting into it. She tried out a few of the tractors (Nathan told her which ones were cool). It started to get dark and Mathew was getting cold, so it was time to go. This, of course, caused a major meltdown (Nathan, not Shirley).
