Today was the first day of the new school year. I realize that it seems silly to make a fuss over this day since the boys attend Miniapple year round as a Montessori/daycare. But still, the start of the school year means saying goodbye to the summer program of biweekly fieldtrips, Mondays at the library, Soccer lessons on Fridays, and the more relaxed atmosphere. It also means saying goodbye to the infant room as Mathew prepares for new adventures with the Toddlers.
Back to the regular routine of lessons and "works" for Nathan in his second year of preschool, and a whole new year of learning and independence in the Toddler room for Mathew. Where does the time go?
So here are my two boys, ready for the first day of school...

Strangely, my heart is both happy and a little sad.

I'm a little happy sad too! They are growing up so fast! They both look really different and older now. Aiyo. Miss them!
Jenny, while I don't have children of my own yet, I think I can understand why you're a little sad. I can't believe Mathew has already moved onto the toddler room. And at the same time, I'm super excited for all of you. Your boys are going to impress you more and more with their growing knowledge. There isn't a day that goes by that I'm not absolutely grateful you and Chris have allowed me to be part of your boys life. I can't wait to read about the silly things Mathew has said on your blogger someday. These are good times.
